High's Helpers
We continue to grow and learn in room 106. We've welcomed some new friends to our room since school started back in September. Friendships strengthen as we spend more time sharing and learning together. The kids are busy building AB and ABBA patterns, counting beyond our 100 days of school, rhyming with their numbers or various rhymes and working on letter recognition...we've made it all the way through letter Rr. Through play, centers and projects, our fine motor skills strengthen. As the weather continues to get nice, we are spending more time in the great outdoors. It has been a long winter and we are all ready to play outside. The classes are also doing an excellent job with their independent coat dressing skills. We continue to learn new songs, while singing some old and familiar songs...together we make music.
If you have any questons about your child, please feel free to email me or see me before or after class. Kelley High Mrs. High's Reminders Spring Egg-stravaganzaRemember to mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 31. Children's Garden will be hosting it's annual Spring Egg-stravaganza for all current preschool students and their siblings.
I Know My AddressIt's that time of the year when we focus on where we live and what our addresses are. If your child is in my CD4 class, please make sure that your child is familiar with their address. The "Special Helper" will recite their address to the class at carpet time. Knowing your address means that you are aware of your house number or apartment number, street name, city in which you live and state. As our children prepare for kindergarten, it is crucial that they are aware of this information...knowing your phone number can be an added bonus:)
Thank you for your cooperation, Kelley High CD4 Parent Teacher ConferencesI would like to thank all my families that took time out of their crazy schedules to sit down with me and discuss the current development and progress of their children. It was nice to have some face-to-face time and catch up. I hope the conferences were beneficial to you and your families. Please remember that if you have any questions or concerns, my door is always open.
Thank you for your time and commitment, Kelley High Snack ScheduleAnyone who is interested in checking their child's snack date can click on calendars (to the right of this box) and arrow through the months. I usually enter two months at a time. Currently, the months of January and February are posted for both CD3 and CD4. I know that there are many parents that would like to know in advance when their snack day is. And I hope this helps for the parents that I never get to visit with since others are dropping/picking up your child. I thought I should put out a note for those that were unaware of our posted snack calendar.
Background Check FormsI just wanted to let parents know that I have officially turned my background check forms into Central Office. I hope that all parents that were interested in helping out in the classroom during our 45 minutes of centers on M-W-F for the months of February, March and possibly April and/or anyone interested in joining us on our annual walk to the McFarland Library in the Spring made sure to fill out and turn in a form. Without the proper authorization I will not be permitted to allow parents with volunteer time.
I apologize for any inconvenience, however the safety of my students is important. Outside PlayHopefully winter is behind us and we can start taking the kids outside on any given day (weather permitting). Please bring your child dressed with the appropriate attire for outside play. Upon arrival, please have your child put his/her coat in their locker. It is very important that student items are labeled. Many children can have identical clothing or items can be placed in the wrong locker by accident.
